Cook Time: 15 – 20 minutes
Serves: 3 – 7
What you will need:
5 – 7 venison steaks
1 – 2 ripe red tomatoes
5 – 7 slices fresh mozzarella (1/4 inch thick)
15 – 21 fresh basil leaves
½ tablespoon balsamic vinegar
½ tablespoon olive oil
In frying pan over medium heat add ½ tablespoon olive oil. Once oil starts to sizzle place venison steaks in pan and let sear for about 5 minutes each side or until red is mostly gone (depending on how you prefer your steaks adjust accordingly)
Meanwhile preheat oven to 350.
Cut tomatoes and mozzarella into ¼ inch thick slices and set aside.
Once steaks are seared place into 9 x 13 baking dish. Top each with once slice of tomato and mozzarella. In preheated oven bake uncovered for about 5 to 10 minutes until mozzarella is melted.
Remove from oven place 2 to 3 basil leaves on each steak and drizzle balsamic vinegar over top.
